대한민국의 수도 서울이 8월 1일 역대 최고 기온인 39.6도를 기록했다. 전국적으로 몰아닥친 전례없는 폭염으로 28 명 이상이 사망했다고 당국이 밝혔다.
8월 2일 오늘 날씨 예보도 서울의 낮 최고기온이 38도를 웃돌 것이라고 한다. 하지만 이런 국가적 재앙도 곧 지나갈 것이다. 숲속에서 수많은 매미들이 노래하는 것은 시원한 가을이 가까웠다는 것을 의미한다.

South Korean capital Seoul has recorded its hottest ever temperature at 39.6 degrees celcius on August 1. Due to the unprecedented heat wave all across the country, more than 28 people have died of heat-related conditions according to authorities.
Weather forcast for today August 2 says that the temperature of daytime high in Seoul will mark over 38 degrees as well. However this kind of national disaster also shall come to pass. Many cicadas are singing in the forest that means a cool Autumn is near.
