유엔난민기구(UNHCR)가 아프가니스탄 난민들에 대한 국제적 지원을 촉구하고 나섰다.
UNHCR은 28일 "폭력과 불안으로 50만 명 이상의 아프간인들이 대피했으며 이중 80%는 여성과 어린이들이다. 대부분의 아프간 난민들은 그 나라 안에 남아 있다. 우리는 국제사회가 아프가니스탄과 아프간 국민들의 요구에 대응하기 위한 지원을 강화할 것을 촉구한다.
Violence and insecurity have displaced more than half a million Afghans, 80% of whom are women and children. Most displaced Afghans remain within the country. We urge the international community to step up its support to respond to the needs of Afghanistan and its people."라고 밝혔다.
