겨울 동강
‘너는 희망으로 사느냐’
희망은 상처를 경유해서 온다네.
시간이라는 상처와 생명이라는
상처를 경유해 날마다 새롭게 태어나네.
다시, 동강에게 희망을 바치며
살아서 아름다운 동강의 생명을
기어이 사랑이라 불러보네.
처음 오대산을 발원해 강원도 산골을
굽이굽이 돌아 정선 조양강을 만나 흐르면
동강은 희망이 되고 생명이 되네.
겨울 강에 눈이 내리네.
뱃사공은 말없이 강을 건너고
아득한 풍경은 무릉에 당도해
신기루 같은 자연의 전언을 전한다네.
풍경은 덧없는 것들의 쓸쓸함까지도
영원한 그리움을 만들어 내는데
내 마음에도 눈이 내리네.
"Do you live by hope?"
Hope arrives
through the wound of time,
through the wound of life—
reborn each day.
Again, I offer hope to the Donggang,
calling its living beauty
by the name of love.
Born in Odaesan’s heights,
twisting through mountain valleys,
meeting the Joyang River in Jeongseon—
Donggang becomes hope, becomes life.
Snow falls on the winter river.
The ferryman crosses in silence.
The distant landscape reaches Mureung,
whispering nature’s mirage-like message.
Even the fleeting sorrow of scenery
becomes eternal longing.
And snow begins to fall
in my heart.
