한국시간으로 3월 4일 트럼프 미국 대통령이 트위터를 통하여 한미훈련에 대한 자신의 견해를 밝혔다.
"내가 한국과 군사훈련을 원하지 않는 이유는 그것을 위해 미국이 지불하지 않아도 될 엄청난 돈을 줄이기 위해서다. 그것은 내가 대통령이 되기 오래 전부터 견지해 온 입장이다. 또한 현 시점에서 북한과의 긴장을 감소시키는 것은 좋은 일이다."
U.S President Donald Trump twitted on Monday Korean time, "The reason I do not want military drills with South Korea is to save hundreds of millions of dollars for the U.S. for which we are not reimbursed. That was my position long before I became President. Also, reducing tensions with North Korea at this time is a good thing!"
